A place to stay and play, relax or celebrate, there's something for everyone at Hololio. Our property offers a unique farm experience nestled in the Wairoa Valley, Clevedon, South Auckland. Hololio is home to five historic buildings, 3 polo fields perfect for polo events, thousands of exotic trees, and a native wetland restoration area, along with 1400 sheep, 25 horses, and 5 friendly dogs.
Hololio is Hawaiian for running horse. Purchased by current owner Nick Jones in 1981 from the descendants of the original European settlers, the Munro family, the property has expanded to incorporate the adjoining historic Dow property and to reintegrate the Munro homestead, built in 1892.
Since 2001, owners Nick Jones and Josephine Elworthy have undertaken an extensive tree planting and trail building programme. They are active in the Friends of Te Wairoa river restoration project and the Clevedon trails project, creating a perfect backdrop for farm experiences. The trees and trails, alongside the river, now provide a unique farmland environment for visitors and residents, making it an ideal location for polo events and weddings in Clevedon.
